Why Just Thrive® and no other probiotic supplement?
Simple. Just Thrive is completely different!
95% of probiotics on the market are comprised of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) and Bifidobacteria strains. Just Thrive® contains 100% Bacillus spore-forming probiotic strains. This probiotic supplement uses a completely different approach that has been obtained from the microbiome project (link) and enables the bacterial strains to successfully enter the gut without being damaged by external factors. Let’s break it down and get a full understanding of this amazing probiotic supplement.

What are the ingredients?
A proprietary probiotic blend 500 mg, 3 billion cells of the following: Bacillus Indicus HU36, Bacillus coagulans, Bacillus clausii, Bacillus subtillis HU58, cellulose (hypoallergenic plant fibre prebiotic), and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose HPMC (vegetable capsule).
Do I need to refrigerate this probiotic?
No. Also, a good probiotic supplement should not need to be refrigerated. Our normal average body temperature is 37°C/98.6°F. This means if a probiotic supplement has to be refrigerated to survive, how can it survive once ingested into our body?
Can I take Just Thrive if I am a vegetarian or vegan?
Absolutely – there are no animal-derived products found in Just Thrive®, making it the perfect product for vegetarians and vegans.
Should I take Just Thrive® if I am on antibiotics?
Yes. Taking probiotics during antibiotic treatment and afterwards, will not only reduce the risk of diarrhoea but also help restore the gut bacteria after antibiotics. Antibiotic treatment can be crucial in some situations, however, it can have a huge impact on your microbial diversity. Decreased microbial diversity can have drastic consequences for your overall health in the long run.
Most health practitioners advise you to take a probiotic after your antibiotic treatment or a couple of hours apart from when taking your antibiotic medication, however, this is no longer true. Spore bacteria, like the proprietary strains in Just Thrive, are protected by their outer spore shell from the killing effects of antibiotics and so remain completely stable in the presence of antibiotics. In contrast, conventional, non-spore strains (Lacto, Bifido, Streptococcus, etc.), do not have this same protection.
However, if you are taking any medications, it is always best to first check with your doctor or healthcare provider.
When is the best time to take Just Thrive?
There is no best time to take Just Thrive, but they recommend taking it with your largest meal. Food will help the strains get into their live, vegetative cell state quicker.
Therefore, get into a routine of having it always with your most regular and largest meal, which for most is dinner.
Does Just Thrive cause die-off symptoms? Or flu-like symptoms?
Die-off is shorthand for a Herxheimer reaction (Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction). The reaction is thought to happen when toxins from dying pathogens (viruses, bacteria, parasites, candida, etc.) overwhelm the body’s ability to clear them out.
Although rare, some people do experience die-off effects when starting Just Thrive. It usually happens within the first few doses, so if you experienced any symptoms right after starting then it could possibly be die-off. As some of these symptoms can be quite unpleasant, you can lower the dosage to either ¼ capsule or half a capsule a day. Another option is to take the probiotic every second day until your symptoms ease off.
One way or the other, die-off effects are a good sign, it means that Just Thrive is going to work in eliminating your bad bacteria while repopulating your gut with the good bacteria. Unless your symptoms are not extremely severe or they are not disappearing after reducing the amount, do not stop taking Just Thrive completely. Optimally, give it at least 7-10 days for your gut to begin to heal.
How long should I be on Just Thrive?
The strains in Just Thrive were strains our ancestors were exposed on a daily basis. These strains were present in the food they ate, the water they drank and the dirt they lived in. Once the strains enter the intestines their life cycle ranges from 21-27 day so if you take the product on a daily basis for three or more months, you can switch to a maintenance dose where you take it every other day or every third day if you’d like.
With a continuous exposure of harmful food, environment, chemicals, air and bad habits we put our gut through a hell of a hard time. We can reduce it to a certain level such as buying organic produce, using water filters and living an active life but it is barely impossible to completely adjust our way of life to favour our microbiome so it strives to its maximum. This is where Just Thrive can fill in the missing gaps and ensure a strong microbial diversity in your gut that will support your optimal health.
Why is Just Thrive more expensive than other probiotics?
Just Thrive is a clinically-based health supplement. The specialized spore-based bacilli formulation of Just Thrive® Probiotic guarantees the survivability of the probiotic strains through the stomach and upper digestive system. It not only provides digestive and immune support as a potent probiotic but also delivers powerful and necessary antioxidants to the GI tract where they are immediately absorbed. So you can just imagine getting exclusive rights to this strain was extremely costly.
They currently have 9 other human clinical trials being conducted on the product. There is no other probiotic on the market that is doing anywhere close to the number of human clinical trials on their product. Most companies do petri dish or at best animal trials which are much less expensive than human clinical trials.
Can I take Just Thrive every other day and still get the same results?
This highly depends on the severity level of the intestinal dysbiosis you are currently dealing with. If you are experiencing serious gut issues it is recommended to take the probiotic supplement for at least 2-6 months. Once your gut has been repopulated with good bacteria and you’re feeling better than ever, you can then reduce the intake to every second or third day.
However, if your health is in good shape already and you would just like to increase your microbial diversity and don’t have a lot of digestive issues, you can try and take it every other day and see how you feel.
One way or the other you are safer taking Just Thrive every second or third day than reaching out for a cheaper probiotic that may not guarantee you the same effectiveness.
Does heat affect Just Thrive? What about expiration?
Just Thrive is heat stable up to 455°F/235°C. This means you can open the capsule and bake with it or put it in food or drinks which makes it very convenient if you have children. Chocolate brownies with some probiotics, anyone?
The current expiration is 4/2023. The spores are the dormant form of vegetative bacteria and are highly resistant to physical and chemical influences. This means the spores found in Just Thrive will stay dormant in the bottle until ingested. Only when the spores enter the intestines, they come alive and recondition the gut by shifting the balance of good and bad bacteria, along with producing crucial antioxidants that help out with your inflammation.
